WHAT IS THE LOGAN SQUARE FARMERS MARKET?
Since 2005, the Logan Square Farmers Market has been an open-air food market and weekly community gathering.  In 2009, it extended its operation to include an indoor market during the fall and winter months.  It is operated by the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce.

WHAT IS THE LOGAN SQUARE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?
The Logan Square Chamber of Commerce, is an association of nearly 150 local businesses whose mission is to advance the civic and commercial interests of Logan Square.  The Chamber is a tax exempt 501(c)6 not-for-profit community organization.

WHEN IS THE MARKET?
The Market is open from 10 am to 3pm every Sunday from mid May through October.  November through March the Market moves indoors and is open from 10am to 3pm.

WHERE IS THE MARKET?
Outdoors, the Market is held along two blocks on the south side of Logan Blvd., just east of Milwaukee Ave. and Kedzie Blvd., southeast of the CTA Blue Line Logan Square Stations.  The street address for GPS devices is 3107 W. Logan Blvd., Chicago.

Indoors the Market is held at 2755 N. Milwaukee Av.

DOES THE MARKET ACCEPT LINK, DEBIT AND CREDIT CARDS?
Since 2007, the Chamber of Commerce has had a wireless credit card device at the Market so that Illinois Link Program (SNAP or foodstamp) participants can use their benefits to shop at the Market.  Every vendor selling SNAP eligible foods is required to accept SNAP payment.  The same device allows the Chamber to accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover debit and credit cards on behalf of our vendor. 

ARE ALL OF THE VENDORS AT THE MARKET CERTIFIED ORGANIC?
While all of our vendors are small growers, producers, and artisans from the Midwestern Foodshed, not all of them are certified organic.  The Market strongly supports and encourages sustainable agricultural and business practices.  For many of our vendors, their operation is too small to allow them the resources to pursue USDA Organic Certification.  The Logan Square Farmers Market has decided to allow these vendors to sell at our Market anyway, with the belief that as we help them succeed, they will be ever more able to follow healthful and sustainable practices. 

HOW DO I BECOME A VENDOR AT THE MARKET?
First, check out the Rules and Guidelines document available on our website.  If you fulfill these requirements, fill out an application and return it to the Chamber of Commerce.  Applications for the 2016 outdoor season were due on March 15, 2016.  Acceptance of an application does not guarantee participation as a vendor.

CAN MY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION HAVE A TABLE AT THE MARKET?
An important function of the Market is as a community building tool and place for public interaction, so the Chamber of Commerce makes at least one market stall, complete with table, chairs and tent, available to community groups, neighborhood non-profits, political organizations, arts organizations, educational groups and other civic-minded organizations free of charge, every Sunday.  If you think that your group would be a good fit for our Market, contact the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce’s office manager Linnea Blomgren by calling 773-489-3222 (10:00 am – 1:30 pm), or by email at linnea@loganchamber.org.  Spots are in high demand, so request a spot as early as you can!

CAN MY LOCAL BUSINESS HAVE A TABLE AT THE MARKET?
The Chamber operates the Market in part as an economic engine for the neighborhood.  To that end, we rent out at least one stall each Sunday to local non-food businesses.  Rates for members of the Chamber of Commerce are $100 per Market and for non-members the rate is $300 per Market.  If you are interested in reserving a spot for your business, contact the Chamber’s Office Manager Linnea Blomgren at 773-489-3222 (10:00 am – 1:30 pm), or email her at linnea@loganchamber.org.  These spaces fill quickly, so do not wait!

CAN I BE ONE OF THE MUSICAL PERFORMERS AT THE MARKET?
We are always looking for great, local musicians to perform at the Market. It’s a great opportunity to reach a large audience, and a whole lot of fun besides.  Musicians volunteer their time, but are allowed to put out a hat or guitar case to collect donations from the crowd.  If you are interested in performing at the Market, email our Music Booker at music@loganchamber.org

HOW IS THE MARKET SUPPORTED?
The Chamber seeks to encourage small farmers and agricultural producers to participate in the Market by keeping participation fees as low as possible. These fees are supplemented by additional support from sponsorships, the sale of advertising and promotional opportunities, grants, donations, and community fund raising efforts.
