Read below for more information about Inspire.
LSFM: How did you start Inspire?
Inspire: The traditional energy market is antiquated and dominated by government-sanctioned monopolies. They have no true incentives to innovate and offer renewable forms of power or smart, energy efficient technologies.
After spending his career building commercially-driven energy businesses, Inspire’s CEO, Patrick Maloney, set out to tackle these problems head on—creating what the ’Utility of the Future’ should look like. He realized that companies like Lyft, Airbnb and Netflix were inherently successful because they use technology to provide new and better ways for consumers to experience our world. By applying a similar lens to the energy industry, Inspire is able to develop consumer technology products that completely reshape the outdated utility model.
LSFM: What is your mission and vision at Inspire?
I: Our mission is to create a connected movement of people towards a brighter energy future. Our vision is a modern world where every home and business is a smart one, powered by clean energy.
LSFM: What makes Inspire stand out from other alt energy start-ups?
I: Disrupting the one-size-fits-all utility model, Inspire’s groundbreaking smart home subscription combines personalized clean energy plans with best-in-class smart devices for one straightforward monthly price. This model represents a fundamental shift in the traditional payment mechanism for energy.
LSFM: How does someone sign up for Inspire services?
I: All of our enrollments at the farmers market are done with tablets so that the user experience is easy and quick. You can also sign up online at helloinspire.com
LSFM: Why does Inspire believe in making an investment in producing a resilient local food system, and how does that relate to your objectives?
I: By supporting localized food systems, we’re reducing harmful GHG emissions that would be put into the atmosphere by the transport and mass production of foods grown and imported to cities.
