Volunteers help make the market shine!
Volunteers support on-site operations and off-site efforts of the market. The LSFM is a project of the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce 501(c)6. Volunteering at the market can help community members gain Service Learning & Community Service hours. Internships may be possible through collaboration with higher education institutions. We may be able to accommodate volunteer and corporate groups, with advanced planning. Please email Whitney Richardson for details email@example.com.
Some perks include Volunteer Appreciation events at neighborhood & vendor businesses, as well as 40% off yoga classes at Logan Square studio, Tula Yoga, through their YogiCitizen Program.
Featured Volunteer: James Liu
James has been volunteering with the LSFM for at least 3 years. James always shows up when he can, to help the market run smoothly, and ensure the farmers market serves our community best. He is always willing to do the hard manual labor required to put on a wonderful event each week. We were very short on help 2 weeks ago, and James answered the call for support without question, to help us clean up the market site and ensure it looked beautiful again for the residents on the block. His spirit for service is strong, and we are so grateful for his ongoing support!

Market shifts (Set-up, morning, afternoon and take-down.) We tend to need the most help for the afternoon and take-down shifts! Sign up and bring a friend.
We need additional ongoing support to help manage our Waste Diversion Program. This includes helping manage our waste diversion streams (landfill versus compost), educating visitors on our compost and waste diversion programs, and talking about our partner, WasteNot Compost. In 2017 to date, we have been able to divert approximately 1500 pounds of organic waste from the landfill.
